Fashion designer Who is innovative, thinking forward, multicultural, and good in hand.
Born Bora Han on April 10, 1979, in Tokyo, she had childhood at beautiful and calm small village. Han and her older brother were raised in Japan while their parents studied abroad and worked there. Later, she completed high education in Korea, and before moving to the US, worked as a visual designer in Hong Kong, China and Japan. These diverse experiences allowed her to learn numerous languages, and to grow into a multi-culture player.
Bora Han’s creativity was apparent at an early age when she would design cheerleader’s uniform of her junior high school. Although she didn’t know how to make clothes at that time, she created perfect outfit with detailed styling.
Han has always thought deeply what the true beauty is. That’s the reason why her first major was Mathematics. She believed that Mathematics is the foundation of the truth. But great concerning of the beauty finally brought her to Fashion Design. While Han studied Fashion, she became to think Fashion is one of Arts because it is not only always pursuing newness but also having the value of aesthetics.
Han was also interested in Costume for the stage and studied Costume design with Korean government scholarship. While she worked as Costume designer, she became familiar with styling included Makeup. So, Han earned Master degree of Cosmetic & Beauty and got training Makeup in NYC. Additionally, Han studied color theory at FIT because she thought that the color and Fashion are inseparable related. After Han came to San Francisco, she was trying to research Fashion much deeper during her another Master degree at Academy of Art University. Moreover, based on her previous knowledge, Han became stronger thinking forward for design and developing design with thinking logically.
Han won the coveted Grand Award at 2009 International Arts of Fashion Competition in Philadelphia, USA, hosted by ARTS OF FASHION FOUNDATION. And also at HAN Style Fashion Competition held as early as 2007, such talent allowed her to win the Minister Award of Korean government.
Han thinks that Fashion is not simply wearing garments but the way to express person’s philosophy and identity. She says that she wants to make an action of dressing become as ‘The Culture’ with her creative ideas. Han is designer who is Multicultural and also good at Color and Design. Moreover, Han is good at concept development, 3D construction. Now, Han focuses on interaction between “Fashion” and “Human”.
